What should they do about this situation?

i have a friend who's family is in a terrible situation... They were living with her grandma, who went in for routine pacemaker surgery and ended up not making it. They must be out of her house by this friday the 1st. They have no money and no where to stay. Her dad has severe back and knee problems causing him to not be able to stand or work long hours. Her mom is an alchoholic as well... What can they do to find someplace to stay and to make some sort of income? Please no rude comments this is a very depressing situation especially since they were living with the grandmother to help her recover from surgery and then she didn't make it through. All help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you everyone!
